The U.S. department of labor has found that the average high school student today will have between five and seven different jobs during their working career.  That means that you have to be highly adaptable in order to have a job.  With the economy being tight you cannot be very strong headed about what job you will take either.  That is why many people are going into the trades such as construction.  Even with the economy in a downswing there will still be construction jobs.  Construction companies are always needed for large projects conducted by State or Federal governments.  Getting into trades is one of the safest ways to garuntee you will have a job for a long time to come.  There are many different colleges that can help you get into trades so why not look into getting a job in a field that will keep growing no matter what is going on with the rest of the economy.
